Kobe Beef Experience
Last June, I traveled to Japan with my family and all of you have already known that Japan is so well know for its Kobe beef. Some even said that it is such a pity if you travel to Japan without tasting the famous Kobe beef. So yeah, on my visit to Japan, I spared some time to taste Kobe beef in it's origin city, Kobe, which fortunately not far from Osaka. I went to a restaurant named Steak Land, which located not far from Kobe Sannomiya Station. Only around 1 minute walk from the west exit.
The restaurant is not big so you need to arrive before crowded time like lunch time or dinner time to get a place without having to wait for long. That time, I arrived just before lunch time so I directly be seated without having to wait.
Entering the place, the waitress greeted me with good manner. The waitress were all being so good even when I asked so many things, they still answer my questions patiently with smile.
I order a Kobe Beef lunch set which is about 3000 yen. In other restaurant, the price can go up to 10.000 yen for one set. In this restaurant, the cook demonstrated the grilling process right in front of you which was so interesting to watch.
This is what it looked like,
First, the cook grilled the whole part until it is slightly cooked. Then they divided the beef into small parts. At this moment, they asked if we want it to be medium cooked or well done. I chose well done to avoid the bacteria what so ever left in the beef.
After that, the waitress put the plate, miso soup, appetizer and everything else at your table.
And after the beef is done, the cook distributed the beef and put it on our plate.
After tasting it, honestly, it really was the best beef I've ever had. After I put it into my mouth, the beef just melt because of the soft texture. I don't need extra effort to chew the beef. And not only the beef, but the vegetable also tasted really good. After meal, the waitress asked if I want a dessert or no. I said yes and they gave me some slices of fruit and an orange juice. In my opinion, the orange juice is not so good because it is not a fresh orange juice. And guess what, after I finished with the payment and everything, There was a long queue in front of the restaurant. So make sure you arrived before crowded time (I recommend around 10-11 A.M. or 3-4 P.M.)
I really recommend this place to be your destination to try Kobe Beef. Not only because the price is not so expensive, the restaurant also serve good Kobe Beef, with good service, which worth the price. I don't know about other Kobe Beef restaurant but at least that's what I can say.
Thre, you can check this link for further information about the restaurant.
*Note: before taking pictures or videos, you need to ask whether they allowed it or no because Japan is very strict about taking pictures. You can say "Sumimasen, sashin o totte mo ii desu ka?" which means "Excuse me, is taking picture allowed?" and if they answer "Hai, daijoobu." or "Ii yo." then go on and take pictures.
